The wife and I had a craving for Vietnamese food today, so we headed out to Cyclo, Taipei's newest and probably trendiest Pho eatery. (By the way, Pho, I found out, is properly pronounced to sound like "fuh". You're welcome.)
Although the address for Cyclo is technically No. 377 Rén'ài Road Section 4, the actual entrance is on the lane directly north of Rén'ài Road. When we got there, there was a small line-up of people outside, and we were told that there would be a 30 minute wait. Fortunately the line moved quickly, and we were seated within 20 minutes.
This is Cyclo from the outside:
And from the inside:
The side dishes were VERY good: four deep-fried wontons with cheese filling, and two crispy spring rolls:
But we had come for Pho: The vegetables were fresh, the meat was just right, and the noodles were wonderfully toothy - not the soft mush that I've gotten at other Pho places in Taipei. Also, the green peppers you see in the vegetable tray behind the bowl were HOT, wonderfully hot! My endorphins were in high gear by the time I finished!
2 bowls of Pho, 2 sides, and two drinks later, and the meal came to $620, so it wasn't exactly a cheap bowl of noodles. On the other hand, the ambience was great, the place was clean, and the food delish, so we were satisfied. We'll definitely be back!

That's very close to Paco's previous Olala, if I'm reading the map correctly.
