Taiwanease family party at our place

Postby asiababy » Sat Jan 21, 2012 22:59

My family would like to invite you to a very casual party at our place on Friday, January 27th, starting about 11am and finishing when it does.

What to bring: We are about 4-5 degrees cooler than Taipei City, so dress accordingly. We have an oven, BBQ table etc so bring something you'd like to eat/drink, we will supply some things, too. We have toys for the kids and a basement for them to watch a DVD if things start to fall apart.

Maybe RSVP here and see if you can coordinate travel with others. We do have a tent if things get desperate you need to stay over...

Well, count me and LiHua in. We are already planning how to transport 5 kilo of my special potato salad on the MRT and taxi to your home. We found you on google and think that a disembark at Nangang and taxi thereforth will be best. Easy for us anyway. Probably not cheapest but a party is a party. Herewith RSVP. God Bless Ya.

I am in if I can get a ride with someone. No kids but my childish self, if that works for you.

Vanessa and I will be there with the girls, weather permitting! (I think if it's raining, we might reconsider....)
We'll bring something sweet from Costco - cookies, or a pie, or something like that.
Be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle.

I checked the forecast, it looks to be wet all week, but less wet on Friday. We'll be here regardless. It's warm and cosy inside, at least.

MilkTeaJack, no need to steal a kid to come along, grownups are definitely welcome. Maybe we can try to work out transportation stuff later in the week.

Blimey, for once I wish I was in Taiwan. I'd love to turn up, drink all day and help you guys build a wall. Instead it is 7am, pissing with rain, I have an essay to finish, and I am eating leftover curry from last night. Balls. Esaay submission 70 hours from now. Shitty times ahead for me, while you guys live it up.

Have a great time guys and raise a glass to bunks at some point during your day. Maybe take some pics and put them up here...?

Just decided we'll probably bring some fish - unless it will offend some vegetarians? - and sweetcorn parcels.

Just spoke to my Brit bud and his SO. Our group is now 4. His name is Glyn and his SO is Dave. I think they are taking some deli sandwich stuff from Willy's in Tianmu. My daughter and her husband are also considering. I'll RSVP if they make up their honeymooning minds soon.

And a party is not a party without you! I always wanted to see you in work boots. (sigh)

Why does all the fun seem to happen only in Taipei? No one here would publish a party with open arms like this on our forum. Gotta know someone who knows someone and then pray hard to get that special text invite! Sigh~ so envious!

Me?? Why Thank-you.Well Asia baby's house has to be special, coz I used to hear bits and pieces of how it was being built, and it did sound like they put in the labour of love. Enjoy everyone!

I was being vague on purpose. There is a similar forum for expats in my city but the community doesn't seem as tight as this one. Don't want to get in trouble pointing fingers. Just know I am envious of the bond displayed on this forum.

Miss meetup.com!
