Is it worth shipping a Suzuki SX4 to the UK?The missus and I are considering a move to the UK at some point, and I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle and expense to ship our 2007 Suzuki SX4 if we move. The cost of transporting it is not part of the consideration (we will have a half-empty container going that way anyway), but testing, import duties, registration etc. are. An added thing to note is that if we don't take it with us we can't sell it—we will instead return it to our in-laws (who bought it for us in the first place). I appreciate parts for repairs might also be an issue. Anyone have any experience or opinions?
Re: Is it worth shipping a Suzuki SX4 to the UK?Only the obvious point of having the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car....

Do you mean this will be a problem from a regulatory/registration standpoint? I've driven left-hand drive vehicles extensively in the UK before, and right-hand drive cars around Europe, so I'm not really concerned from the point of view of the driving experience.

No regulatory issues, it just happens to be a slightly disconcerting feeling trying overtake the car in front of you when you can't see what's coming... Nil illegitimi carborundum

Re: Is it worth shipping a Suzuki SX4 to the UK?Ah, well if you drive like a risk-averse grandmother (like me) then perhaps it's not as big a concern, but I take your point.
Re: Is it worth shipping a Suzuki SX4 to the UK?What a pain.
Re: Is it worth shipping a Suzuki SX4 to the UK?Unless the car has some specific sentimental value, it's probably WAY too much of a bother.

And it's not Brand new...4 years and counting, not worth it! I wish them all the luck that accompanies such malevolence.
