Late night snacks?

Postby Lili » Mon Jan 30, 2012 23:28

I'm always starving around bedtime. I simply cannot go to sleep hungry, but I know this is a no-good for me.

In NY, my best friend and I usually finish our days by heading to the diner and drinking a few cups of coffee over french fries or a baclava.
So this is what I'm typically craving this time of night. A hot cup of coffee and sweet/salty.

So anyone got ideas for late night snacks?
Do you typically eat late night snacks or are you somehow Super-human control.

French Fries ?? Ha my kinda girl. Head down to 7-11 for a Weiss Mango bar and a box of unhealthful, no taste Jiao zis with a wooden fork and a sachet of some crude super salty oil.

Of course I can give you a list of 'good' snacks, but who wants that?
I wish them all the luck that accompanies such malevolence.

Well, since the DW prepared a light, pescatarian dinner, we were both hungry near bedtime. I sauteed minced red onion, garlic, bell pepper, dried minced onion, black pepper, paprika and garlic granules and broccoli in some olive oil, let that cool a tad, then added canned tuna and mayo. Mixed that up and spread it on toasted whole wheat bread. Not too bad with a bit of red wine at bedtime.

My late-night snack is invariably cheese and pickles on crackers.

Down two pints of water in under a minute. That will fill you up and you will have a time to beat the next time you are hungry at bed time. You might have to go for a wazz in the night though...

Ha! you guys are all lightweights. You have no idea of how to consume calories. Lili, I am assuming people don't gift you massive amounts of cheese cake and boxes of pineapple cakes. Pity!!!

Yeah, just drink some water. Eating before bed is one of the worst things you can do.
