Where is the "own posts" button? (Resolved!)

Is something not working the way it should? Is there a feature or function you'd like to see on the site? Let us know about it here!

I'm quite interested: what do people need an "Own Posts" button for? In my ten years of using forums, I've never used it once. :ponder: The "New Posts" one works quite fine for me. Maybe I'm a bit of a simpleton or something. :idunno:

I for one can't keep track of the threads I have posted in and would like the reminder because I can then see if there are any replies either to me directly or in the thread in general. When the new list moves on at a pace I forget that I have posted in such and such a thread and so the visual reminder is brilliant.

You're online 16 hours a day, so when you click 'new' you get to see what people've replied almost immediately. If you check in once a week or oncce every two days and want to know what replies you got, you'll get 200 posts before you find yours....clicking on own, brings out all the threads you had posted in.
I wish them all the luck that accompanies such malevolence.

Ah! So it's an ego thing. We're not interested in wading through the drivel that the Great Unwashed have written, we want to go STRAIGHT to our pearls and bask in the adoration of the sycophantic replies! OK. Got it.

As the buttons at the top are not very descriptive, being single words, new users may not be familiar with their functions. I left the buttons that have it spelled out on pages that have the rest of the post nav options (view active posts, view new posts, etc) to make it a bit more user friendly for the new guys... as to the experienced users, I don't think 10px of your viewing platform is significant real estate, but feel free to fling dung at your technical oppressor (Maoman can I have that title instead of admin?).

You have no idea where I've been... unless you're stalking me... in which case, can you tell me where I was last week?

I'm not bothered one way or the old, beaker old chap, so no dung to be flung (pardon the rhyme). I'm just doing a bit of poster thinking for you.

Bingo. Otherwise it's like being in a conversation, going to the bathroom and forgetting who you were talking to.
