Birthday Party Suggestions needed. Tianmu

Postby madelein » Mon Sep 26, 2011 22:22

I am planning a birthday picnic for my daughter(4 years old) this Sunday, but I am worried that it might rain on Sunday. Any ideas where we can go? (and take our own food with) I live in Xizhi but we are going to have the party in Tianmu.

If you put your location in your profile, people will have a better idea of what areas and locations to recommend.

Tianmu has no shortage of parks, so you can choose based on your needs/desires.

Tianmu Park is the greenest and relatively natural (i.e., a non-concreted stream, trees older than just a couple of decades, etc.). It has a few covered areas where people could eat -- though these usually lack picnic tables. I'm fond of the extension on the north side, which many people don't know exists. But the playgrounds are in the main part to the south.

The Tianmu Sports Park has the largest open area. And you could get additional food nearby (e.g., sushi in the basement of the Japanese department store). There will be lots of kids around if your daughter wants playmates. The Eslite across the street has some stores she might like.

Taipei American School usually has its grounds open on the weekends. I'm not sure if they're OK with picnicking, though.

And this park is OK.

Really, there are parks all over. FWIW, there are probably rules against barbecuing in any of those places.

If you are looking for an indoor venue in case it rains you could check out , in Tianmu and Yu Kids Islands in Dazhi or Tianmu ( Dazhi is bigger).

I know you can rent the party room at Yu Kids Island for around 3000NT including the birthday cake.
