A friend of mine - a single mother...is going to work in Taiwan for three weeks as she is a trainer/consultant. Since it is over the summer holidays, she is contemplating to bring her 9 y/o daughter with to Taipei.
For a great deal of the three weeks, i might be able to watch her: take her with for shopping, swimming, parks, etc... Nevertheless I was wondering if anybody can give me more information on the Summer Camps or other activities organised here during summer. We are looking at the following dates: mid July - first week August.
Also if anybody can recommend a helper/"baby"sitter for times I might not be available - please do send me a PM. Thanks a lot.
Have a good week! ..and even if there is rain outside - have SUNSHINE in your heart! Anja
Hi You could look at the TYPA summer camp which will run until end of July its a great fun programme. Kids are aged 6-12 years. I am not sure of any other camps!
I enroll my son every summer at the Physical Education College summer camp (located next to the Tianmu Baseball Park), it goes from the beginning of July to the end of August, just before Fall Semester starts. You can register on a weekly basis, it's NT$3,500 a week, another NT$500/week if you want lunch and snacks. You can pick two sport activities (from baseball to soccer to basketball, table tennis, rock climbing, etc.) for the morning and it's the same two for that week (you can pick different ones for each week and they have like more than 20 activities to choose from), and then there's a different theme in the afternoon, usually story time, arts & craft, board games, etc. I think either once a week or once every other week, they will go on a field trip. It's not a bad deal. My son is very active, and he loves it! The coaches are either students at the college (they are all getting a degree in physical education) or licensed coaches affiliated with a national organization. I don't know if everyone there can speak a little or some English but my son said he's played with kids from other countries. You might need help from a local to get registered. I'd be happy to help out if you're interested and need assistance with the registration.

Hi there. Quite interesting when I found your answer about Taipei Physical Education College sports summer camp. Do you or anyone else reading this have the website details (Chinese is fine as I can read it and my wife is Taiwanese) for this camp? Summer indeed is coming quick. Thanks in advance.

Audrey mentioned that it was located next to the Tianmu Baseball Stadium so I did a search and came up with this:
