Donovan's Café in Danshui (closed)

I don't really like Danshui on a Sunday - too many people. But what I DO like is that Donovan's Café is an easily accessible oasis of civilized calm, right in the middle of all the noise and chaos. It's not fancy. The food isn't haute cuisine. They don't serve fancy Belgian beers (as far as I know). But the beer is cold, the food is tasty, filling, and affordable, and the view is fantastic (it's RIGHT on the river).
I was there with Beaker on Sunday, and enjoyed myself immensely, despite being there with Beaker. :eh:

Oh, and a disclaimer - one of the two proprietors is a good friend of mine. But everything I said above is still true! :thumbsup:

Edit: As of July 13, Donovan's is closed. :sad:

Certainly a nicely named establishment, and if it makes even Beaker's company bearable ( :wink: ) ... I will have to check it out.
