I know this will probably get a "meh, so what?" from the vast majority of the population, but I think that what this represents (the continuing improvement of particle physics and our understanding of the structure of our universe) is tremendously exciting, not to mention awe-inspiring. I love this stuff.

If it's the real thing, this discovery might be one of the few positive things about our age that will still be viewed as a milestone hundreds of years from now.
I lost a lot of respect for CERN after that supposed faster than light fiasco a while back. "Einstein Was Wrong!" I remember people proclaiming. I recommend that everybody wait a little bit.
